Short version: every calculation runs entirely in your browser, and we never see the values you enter. There are no accounts. We collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics to improve the tools, and if you choose to send feedback, we store what you submitted so we can reply and improve. No cookies, no ads, no data selling.
Who we are
AmChromaLab (amchromalab.com) is a free suite of six browser-based chromatography calculators. There is no company account system, no sign-up, and nothing to log into. If you need to reach us, use the feedback form on the home page — that is also the contact point for any privacy question or request on this page.
What stays on your device
All calculator inputs and results — column dimensions, sample loads, buffer recipes, process economics, anything you type or compute — are calculated locally in your browser. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party. The usage statistics described next record which fields you use, never what you enter in them.
What we collect: anonymous usage statistics
To understand which tools are useful and where to improve, the site records a small set of aggregate usage events with its own lightweight tracker script. Concretely:

Events are grouped under a random session ID created fresh in each browser tab. It is not linked to you — it contains no name, no email, no IP address — and it disappears when you close the tab. We cannot connect these statistics to a person.
How this information is used
All of it is read in one place only: a private, unlisted statistics dashboard that aggregates these events. Concretely, the numbers are used to:
- Decide which calculators deserve improvement time — page views and which calculator is opened from the home page show what scientists actually reach for.
- Simplify and repair features — field and button usage shows which parts of a tool are relied on and which are dead weight.
- Fix bugs — the technical error messages are aggregated so recurring breakage is visible at a glance.
- Understand reach — traffic sources, screen sizes, and browser languages guide what to support next.
- Measure whether changes work — for example, whether a redesigned page actually steers more people to the right calculator.
That is the entire list. The statistics are never used for advertising, profiling, or identifying anyone — they cannot be, since they contain nothing that identifies you.
What we collect: feedback you choose to send
If you use the feedback form, we store what you submit: your message, an optional subject, and an optional email address. The email is used only to reply to you, if you provided one. You can send feedback without giving an email at all. Submissions are kept so we can respond and use your input to improve the calculators.
What we never do
- No accounts or sign-ups of any kind.
- No selling, renting, or trading of data.
- No advertising and no ad-tech trackers — the site sets no cookies and loads no ad scripts.
- No collection of your calculator input values or results. They stay in your browser.
Storage on your device
The calculator pages store exactly two things in your browser: your theme preference (light or dark, in localStorage) and the random per-tab session ID described above (in sessionStorage, cleared when the tab closes). That is all — no cookies.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare hosts this site and serves its pages from its edge network; it also runs the small server function that receives feedback form submissions.
- Supabase is the database where the anonymous usage events and feedback submissions are stored. The tracker sends events straight to our own Supabase project.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces (Inter, Inter Tight, JetBrains Mono). As with any font CDN, Google's servers see the requests for those files, including your IP address. Nothing else is sent to Google, and the calculators fall back to system fonts offline.
No other third parties are involved — no ad networks, no social plug-ins, no cross-site trackers.
Your rights and choices
Feedback
You can ask us to show you the feedback you submitted, or to delete it. Contact us through the feedback form and say it is a privacy request. If you want a reply, include an email address.
Usage statistics
The statistics are anonymous and are not linked to you, so there is no personal profile to access or delete.
Blocking
You can block the statistics script or browser storage through your browser settings (private windows, content blocking, clearing site data) without losing any calculator functionality. The calculators are offline-first: they run entirely on your machine.
How long we keep things
Feedback is kept only as long as needed to respond and to improve the tools, and we delete it on request. Anonymous usage statistics are kept only as long as they are useful for improving the site.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Effective date: 22 September 2026.
